Initial Caregiver Consultation
Taking the first step can be the hardest! You’ve realized that you need support but aren’t quite sure how to get it. Congratulations! We are here to help you!
During this consultation, we will discuss your needs and concerns and share the services available to assist you. From there you will be able to make an informed decision on taking steps to get prepared for your caregiving journey.
Additional Consultations
Take a deep breath and know that you have someone on your side! Caring for a loved one with dementia is not easy and most people simply do not have the knowledge and the skills to handle the day-to-day situations that arise. We can provide you the education and skills needed to provide care tailored to your loved one.
Take comfort in knowing that the care you provide is truly a blessing and will be positively life-changing with dementia care professionals supporting you!
Senior Home Safety Awareness
Most aging Americans say they want to age in place, yet many have done nothing to prepare their homes for aging. We will educate you about fall prevention, fire safety precautions, aging in place home modification recommendations, identity theft and scams and crime prevention. We will also provide you information about safety products and technologies that you may find beneficial. Our goal is to help older adults enjoy the freedom and independence to “age safe® at home”.
Caregiver Action Plan
With this step you’ve recognized the benefit to being prepared for the long journey ahead! You will receive a Caregiver Tool Kit with some important resources to help you get started. We will meet with you to determine your specific needs. For example, have you connected with local resources to provide you with assistance that is appropriate for your situation? Have you addressed all legal, financial and long-term care planning? Do you have opportunities for respite care? I will serve as your GUIDE and walk you through this journey, step by step!
They say it takes a village and we agree, so we encourage you to ask your friends, family, and church members to support you and your loved one by becoming a part of your care team. We will train you and your team by using Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® methods. With these tools, you will be amazed at how your journey will change. Dementia is hard, but we will help you find faith, hope and joy in each new day!
Early-Stage Memory Loss Program
Brain Bloom Academy incorporates the
(IMEP) Integrated Memory Enhancement Program, a structured, classroom-based curriculum
tailored for those with MCI (mild cognitive impairment) or anyone experiencing early memory loss due to neurocognitive disorders including Alzheimer’s, other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke or injury. The program aims to enhance cognitive reserve and reduce the effects of memory loss or dementia. We place a strong emphasis on education, social engagement, and cognitively stimulating activities, all while providing temporary relief and support for caregivers.
